Yukon Community Program (YCP)

Yukon PNP Community Pilot Program

Program Introduction

Initiated in July 2020, the Yukon Community Pilot (YCP) is a branch of the Yukon Nominee Program, offering a streamlined process for foreign workers to settle in Canada. This program exempts participants from needing a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

Eligibility for a 2-year open work permit under YCP includes holding a permanent residence nomination from Yukon. The pilot aims to invigorate the economies of several Yukon communities:

  • Whitehorse
  • Watson Lake
  • Dawson City
  • Haines Junction
  • Carmacks
  • Carcross
Work Permit Features:
  • Employment with up to 3 different employers in a participating community.
  • Valid for 2 years.
  • No LMIA required.
Work Permit Requirements:
  • 2 or 3 job offers from employers in a Yukon community.
  • A letter of support from the Government of Yukon.
  • Fulfilling general work permit prerequisites.
  • Relevant work experience.
Job Offer Criteria:
  • All jobs located in the same Yukon community.
  • Cumulative 30+ hours per week.
  • Non-seasonal roles.
  • Wages at or above Yukon’s minimum wage.

Yukon Provincial Nominee Program (YPNP) Nomination:

Application through either the Skilled Worker Program (for NOC 0, A, and B occupations) or the Critical Impact Worker Program (for NOC C & D occupations) is necessary.

Eligibility for Skilled Worker Program:
