  • Language proficiency: Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 5. Test results should be less than 12 months old.
  • Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
  • Intent: Candidates should plan to live permanently in Newfoundland and Labrador.

  • Health Care Sector: Includes roles like Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Psychologists, and Radiation Therapists.
  • Aquaculture Sector: Jobs like Farming and Feeding Managers, Cage Site Technicians, and Area Managers.
  • Engineering and Development: Opportunities for Software Developers, Biomedical Engineers, and Programmers.
  • Technical Specialists: Roles like Security Specialists, Cloud Specialists, Data Analysts, and Technical Writers.
Application Process:
  • Expression of Interest (EOI) Submission: Candidates complete a questionnaire that assesses language ability, education, work experience, and family connections in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Evaluation and Invitation: Those scoring above 60 points are considered for invitation. High-scoring candidates, especially those drawing employer interest, are invited to apply for the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program without a job offer.
  • Provincial Nomination Application: Eligible candidates for either the Skilled Worker or Express Entry Skilled Worker category receive a provincial nomination certificate, which can be included in their permanent residency application to the federal government.
  • Support During PR Process: While awaiting permanent residency, candidates receive support from the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism and access to specialized services, including work permit support letters.
