US L1 Residency Visa Program

US L1 Residency Visa Program

L-1A Visa – Temporary Work Visa for Intra-Company Transfers

The L-1 visa is designed for key employees of international companies, enabling them to be relocated to the United States to continue working with their current employer. It’s particularly suitable for crucial staff who need to move to the U.S. to help establish a new parent company, branch, affiliate, or subsidiary. The company involved can be based in the U.S. or abroad.

Requirements for the L-1 Visa:

To be eligible for an L-1 visa, an applicant must have worked for the company for at least one continuous year within the past three years in a managerial role or a position requiring specialized knowledge. The applicant should also be aiming to hold a similar high-level or specialized role within the company in the U.S.

Applicants also need to meet specific health and character standards.

Benefits of the L-1 Visa:

The L-1 visa is temporary, allowing the holder to live and work in the U.S. for a limited time. For employees transferring to an established U.S. company, the visa typically lasts for three years, while for new companies, it’s usually one year, with possible extensions.

Holders of an L-1 visa can pursue permanent residency in the U.S. by applying for a Green Card without affecting their L-1 status.

Spouses and unmarried children under 21 can obtain an L-2 visa to accompany the L-1 visa holder. They are permitted to work with authorized employment or study in the U.S. without needing a separate student visa.
