Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)
Overview
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is a key pathway for immigration to Canada, allowing individuals to become permanent residents. As one of Canada’s most effective immigration programs, SINP enables skilled and experienced individuals to receive a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan, which greatly expedites the process of obtaining Canadian permanent residency.
Key Categories of SINP:
- International Skilled Worker Category: Targets foreign applicants with essential skills. It comprises three streams:
- Saskatchewan Express Entry: For those in the federal Express Entry system.
- Saskatchewan In-Demand Occupation: For applicants with experience in Saskatchewan’s in-demand occupations.
- Saskatchewan Employment Offer: For those with job offers in Saskatchewan.
- Saskatchewan Experience Category: For foreign nationals currently employed in Saskatchewan.
- Saskatchewan Farm Owners and Operators Category: Aimed at experienced farm owners/operators who plan to establish and run a farm in Saskatchewan.
Application Process for International Skilled Worker:
A. Saskatchewan Express Entry:
- Eligibility includes having an active profile in the federal Express Entry pool, scoring at least 60 points on the SINP assessment grid, and meeting specific work, education, and language requirements.
- Applicants must submit an online profile to IRCC’s Express Entry system, receive an Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Validation Code, and then apply through SINP Online.
B. Saskatchewan Occupation In-Demand:
- Candidates should have one year of experience in an in-demand occupation and score a minimum of 60 points on the SINP assessment grid.
- Requirements include language proficiency, adequate work experience, and relevant post-secondary education.
- Applicants need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and pay a $350 application fee if invited to apply.
C. Saskatchewan Employment Offer:
This stream is for individuals with valid job offers from Saskatchewan employers.
Saskatchewan Experience Category:
This category is for those already working in Saskatchewan under various streams like Existing Work Permit, Health Professionals, Hospitality Sector Project, Long-Haul Truck Driver Project, and Students.
Saskatchewan Farm Owners and Operators Category:
Aimed at experienced farm owners/operators, this stream requires a significant net worth and the intention to invest in and operate a farm in Saskatchewan. A “good faith” deposit of $75,000 (CAD) is required, refundable upon meeting the terms of the Performance Agreement.
Excluded Occupation List:
Certain occupations are excluded from the OID and Express Entry sub-categories of SINP, ensuring the program aligns with Saskatchewan’s current labor market needs.
